President Election; Siddaramaiah one of UPA proposer

Prime News, Karnataka, New Delhi, June 28:- In a counter attack to BJP, the Congress high command decided to include CM Siddaramaiah as one of proposer for the President nominee from UPA.

Recently, Bharathiya Janata Party BJP, chosen state chief Yeddyurappa as one of the proposer for the NDA candidate, Congress also chosen Karnataka Chief Minister in view of Karnataka assembly election which is to be held in 2018.

As both the candidate belongs to dalit community, the Congress and BJP by including one proposer for the nomination papers of President, wants to convey a message to dalit community that it’s their party who can take care of dalit causes.

Some 11 parties headed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi put a candidate for the President’s election after consensus effort failed, although clearly the numbers not their side, UPA wants election to be held.

All the formalities has been completed at Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office in Bengaluru, the CM scheduled to visit New Delhi on June 28, it is learnt from the sources.
