The district administrations sudden rule of imposing ban on private vehicles to Chamundi Hill received a massive backlash from the tourists and citizens of Mysuru. As a result, the district administration has decided to take back the rule and allow the private vehicles to ply on the hill.
The number of visitors to the Chamundi hill saw a drastic reduction in the past few days, thanks to the alternate plan suggested by the District administration to park their vehicles at the Lalitha Mahal Helipad and travel to Chamundi Temple by KSRTC buses for free. The visitors cited the reason of depriving them the joy of driving up the hill and relish the scenic beauty. Some visitors also questioned the security for their vehicles parked in Lalith Mahal. Some visitors had to even cancel their plans of visiting Chamundeshwari Temple due to this rule.
