The Mysuru district administration had announced that the entry of private vehicle to Chamundi hills would be prohibited fromOctober 2 to October 16 between 6 am and 8:30 pm. The decision was taken to prevent traffic chaos at the temple premises as thousands of tourists and devotees are expected to visit the temple on the auspicious occasion of Navaratri.
On October 1, private vehicles were allowed to enter Chamundi Hills as usual to attend the Dasara inaugural function. Beginning today, visitors have been advised to park their private vehicles near the helipad at the Chamundi foothills near Lalitha Mahal Palace. The district administration is also providing free bus facility to the commuters.
Surprisingly, all the private vehicles were seen plying as usual to the Chamundi Hills and two buses assigned to pick and drop the commuters waited for the visitors at the helipad ground.
