A high-level probe has been initiated against the Jail Superintendent Anand Reddy with under-trials leveling allegations of corruption.
It is said that some under-trials had sent an eight-page complaint to the department of prison, talking eloquently of the corrupt practices and irregularities of the officer.
Taking complaint seriously, the Department of Prison sent a probe team led by senior prison official G Veerabhadraswamy from Bengaluru to collect more information and submit a report.
Accordingly, the team that arrived in Mysuru on recently, grilled Mysuru jail superintendent for over four hours in jail premises and verified all the documents.
It is also learnt that hey met under-trials secretly to extract more valuable information from their end based on their complaint. Final report will be submitted to the government soon based on the investigation.
