KSOU: Prof D Shivalingaiah on Friday assumed charge as Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).
Registrar P S Naik, who was holding additional charge as Vice-Chancellor, handed over charge to Prof Shivalingaiah who was earlier the Registrar of Tumakuru University. The vice chancellor’s post was vacant since January 30 as the former vice chancellor Prof M G Krishnan retired from the post.
Speaking to mediapersons after he officially assumed the post of VC, KSOU Prof Shivalingaiah said he was delighted over his appointment and assured to live up to the expectations of all and work for the progress of the university.
His priority is to clear up all the mess in the university and secure recognition for the university thus protecting the interest of the students.
“I believe in transparent administration and during my service I have worked to implement e-governance. Here too I would main transparency through e-governance and try to ensure good administration. I also urge to implement Sakala project. Interest of students will be my top most priority,” he added.
