Prof Ni Girigowda to be felicitated on March 19; book ‘Aparoopada Aparanji’ to be released

Mysuru, March 12:- “A felicitation and book release programme for retired Prof Ni Girigowda is organised by Prof Ni Girigowda Students and Fans’ Association on March 19,” said convenor of the association and retired joint director of Survey Department M S Mariswamigowda.

Speaking at the press meet held at Mysuru Press Club, he said, “Prof Ni Girigowda was born on December 25, 1944 at Kanniyanahundi in HD Kote taluk. He completed his education at Dalvoy High School, Yuvaraja College, Maharaja College and Manasagangothri. He worked as a Kannada lecturer from 1973-83 and as professor from 1983-2002. He was the chairman of Pandavapura Kannada Sahitya Parishat for five consecutive years. He has contributed immensely to the field of education and literature. With his support the degree college was started at Pandavapura. He has also helped many poor students to complete their education. He will be felicitated on March 19 at Pandavapura TPCMS Hall at 11 am. Book ‘Aparoopada Aparanji’ will also be released on the occasion,” he added.

Dr H R Thimmegowda of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, retired professor N Ramu, retired assistant director of Women and Child Welfare Department B C Bettegowda and social activist K Raghuram Vajapayee were present. (KMR, NGB)
