Mysuru, September 8:- Mysuru Warriors, a cricket franchise from agarbathi to aerospace conglomerate, NR Group, inaugurated friendly cricket tournament with 8 teams from 7 slums in Mahajana’s Ground,Mysuru. NR Foundation, the philanthropic arm of NR Group organized the matches under their project Prerepana, implementing parts being Swamy Vivekananda Youth Movement.
Ekalavyanagara, Bharath Nagar, Kalyangiri–KSB Colony, VandeMatharam, Shivrathreshwara nagara, Kesare- Kurimandi, AmbedakarGyanaLoka and SYVM represented their own teamsfor 6 overs tennis ball tournament.
Arjun Ranga, Owner, Mysuru Warriors, Dr Seetharam and Dr Sindhu Suresh from SVYM inaugurated the event with Mysuru Warrior team players.Every participant received a Mysuru Warriors T-shirt as participation appreciation from the Mysuru Warriors players.
The event also witnessed an enthusiastic crowd from each slum cheering for their teams.
Speaking about the initiative, Arjun Ranga said, “We are thrilled that everyone is getting cricket fever this KPL. It was absolutely amazing to see Mysuru Warriors team players inaugurating the enthusiastic cricket tournament. Prerepana has always worked towards the betterment of the residents of these slums. This collaboration is an attempt from our end to explore the sporting talent of these slums.”
Kalyangiri–KSB Colony won the tournament leaving VandeMatharam runner-up for the same. Pramod, SVYM bagged the award for best bowler, Wasim, Kalyangiri received the award for best batsman. Ravichandar, SVYM cheered the crowd by making fastest fifty.
