Property-return parade held

Mysuru City police have recovered stolen gold, silver, vehicles and other valuables worth Rs 2,49,58,617 so far till August end. The lost properties and valuables were handed over to the concerned parties during the property return parade held at Parade ground, on Saturday.

As many as 207 cases which were registered in the limits during the trimester period of January and August were solved by arresting 157 accused involved in the crime.

Around 4.572 kg of gold, 8.15 kg of silver, 60 mobiles, 102 two wheelers, 3 cars, two auto rickshaws, one lorry, two laptops and cash Rs 12,83,670 were returned back to the concerned parties by Police Commissioner B Dayananda. As part of the search operation conducted by the city police one murder case, 3 dacoits, 27 ransom cases, 6 chain snatching, 36 robbery cases, 4 cases where valuables were stolen by house maid, 102 two wheeler stolen cases, 3 car stolen cases, 25 general robbery cases have been solved.

In a search operation conducted by the CCB, three accused identified as Syed Aleem a resident of Ajeej Sait nagar, Mohammad Munna a resident of Ghousia Nagar and Umar a resident of Bharathi nagar were arrested and articles worth Rs 14, 78,900 Rs were seized from them. In another case, Jayalakshmipuram police have arrested four minor boys who had lifted 7 two wheelers worth Rs 3, 10,000.

Mysuru CCB police have arrested 23 accused and seized valuables and articles worth Rs 72,02,400, Nazarbad police have arrested 16 accuse and have seized 18 two wheelers, 1 lorry, 1 mobile phone and other valuables worth Rs 37,00,500, NR Police have arrested 18 accused and seized valuables worth Rs 27,25,000, Saraswathipuram police have arrested 9 accused and have seized articles, mobiles and vehicles worth Rs 25,63,900, Kuvempunagar police have arrested 4 accuse and seized valuables worth Rs 22,01,500, Metagalli police have arrested 10 accuse and seized Rs 24,49,000 worth valuables. Vijaynagar police have arrested 5 accuse and have seized articles worth Rs 10,77,500. Mandi police have arrested 17 accused and seized Rs 6,69,700 worth articles and cash. Jayalakshimpuram police, Devaraja Police, KR Police, Vidyaranyapuram police, Ashokpuram police, Lakshmipuram police, Lashkar police, Udayagiri police, VV Puram Police have arrested a total of 55 accused.

DCP (Crime and Traffice) N Rudramuni, DCP (Law and order) Dr H T Shekhar, Inspectors of all police stations were present at the property return parade.
