Mysuru, May 27:- Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha staged a silent protest on Wednesday, condemning the APMC Act amendment and asked the government to fulfill farmers’ demands.
The protesters, who had gathered in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office (DC) office here, led by Badagalapura Nagendra, expressed their opposition to the APMC Act amendment. They urged the government to completely waive off the loans of farmers and take back the Labour Act amendment. They urged the state government to provide 15 kg of rice to everyone irrespective of APL and BPL cards.
A memorandum was submitted to the DC Abhiram G Sankar to be submitted to the government.
M S Ashwatha Narayana Raje Urs, Saraguru Nataraj, Hosakote Basavaraj, Marankaiah, Ananduru Prabhakar, Naganahalli Vijayendra and others were present. (MR/KS)
