Mysuru, November 6:- Karnataka Rakshana Vedike staged a protest on Wednesday, urging the government to take action against the doctors of Minto Hospital in Bengaluru, whose costly error caused permanent blindness to 22 patients.
The protesters, who had gathered in front of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office here, said that the negligence of doctors during cataract surgery has caused irreparable damage to poor patients. They have come to Karnataka Rakshana Vedike seeking justice but the hospital is making junior doctors protest against us.
They urged the hospital to make sure that the patients get back their eyes or provide a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to each of them.
District president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Praveen Kumar, Anand, Lokesh, Hemanth, Manjunath, Raghu, Rafi and others were present. (MR/KS)
