Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) Employees Association has decided to give 26% of its 54% total shares to the private investors. Opposing this decision of the central government, BEML employees staged a protest in front of BEML gate.
Speaking on the occasion, the protesters said that they have submitted request letter to the Prime Minister and President. But no action has been taken. To oppose the privatisation of BEML, the employees associations are staring a protest till April 28. Until the government decides not to privatise BEML, the protest will continue, they said.
President of the Employees Association, L K Devadas led the protest. Vice president Govinda Reddy, chief secretary Naga Shayana, assistant secretary H C Shivappa and treasurer Chand Singh were present.
