Activists protest against transfer of Ashrama School teachers

Mysuru, July 13:- “Transferring teachers of Ashrama Schools without prior information should be stopped immediately. Or else we will stage statewide protests. We will lay siege to the office of Social Welfare Department,” said the president of Budakattu Mulanivasigala Jagruta Vedike, Lingapura Basappa at a press meet held at a private hotel in Periyapattana on Friday.

“Hundreds of tribal students are studying at Doddahosuru – Ranigate Ashrama School. Teachers at the school are doing a good job. But the officials of the social welfare department are transferring the teachers of the school indiscreetly. It is adversely affecting the education of students. The teachers who are transferred should be sent back to the school. Or else we will intensify the protests,” he warned.

President of Tribal Farmers’ Association, J D Jayappa, Raju, Puttaraju, Sundar, Raju, Mada, Kumar and others were present. (MR/KS).
