KR Hospital sees unprecedented rush

Mysuru, November 16:-  The inflow of patients at the government-run KR Hospital has more than doubled in the last couple of days, thanks to the protest by private hospitals who are indefinite strike.

As no private hospitals are functioning in the city, patients are forced to come to K R hospital in large numbers from Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Gundlupet and other close-by places. The rush is so much that the doctors are struggling to check all the patients but they have no choice.

All the wards are full. Doctors who have gone on leave have been advised to  get back to work as soon as possible. This comes in the wake of protest by private hospitals.

Around 175 hospitals in the city have extended their support to the bandh. Many diagnostic centres have also closed shut shop and patients are rushing to the diagnostic centres that are open. (MR/KS).
