Protest condemning eviction of footpath vendors

Mysuru, February 11:- Karnataka Rakshana Vedike members staged a protest on Monday, condemning the eviction of footpath vendors of N R Mohalla and Shivaji Road.

The protesters, who had gathered in front of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), said that the vendors have been doing business here for decades. They said that they were evacuated from the footpaths without any prior intimation.

They alleged that such actions have never been taken at any layouts in Mysuru. It has disrupted the lives of many roadside vendors as they are not provided with an alternative. They urged the MCC to provide another place for the small-time vendors.

Praveen Kumar, Lokesh Kumar, Sunanda Prasad, Prasad, Hemanth Kumar, Girish, Sandeep Prasad, Ravish, Ramu, Murthy and others were present. (MR/KS)
