Mysuru, June 27:- Farmers organisation and sugarcane grower’s organisation staged protest in front of the DC office demanding complete waiver of farmers loan on Tuesday.
“The waiver of the Rs 50,000 loans in cooperative banks are not much helpful for the farmers. They have suffered enough due to successive draught in three years. Maharashtra and Punjab governments have waived off loans worth Rs 1.5 lakh and 2 lakh respectively,” said the protesters. They also urged the government to call a meeting of sugarcane buyer board.
President of sugarcane grower’s organisation Kurubur Shanthakumar, Varakudu Krishnegowda, A Nagaraju and others were present. (KS)
