DSS stages protest, demands release of Dr Anand Teltumbde

Mysuru, May 14:- Dalita Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) staged a silent protest alleging the government has arrested scholar Dr Anand Teltumbde purposefully and demanded his immediate release.

The protesters, who had gathered in front of Dr B R Ambedkar statue near Sri Rangacharlu Memorial Town Hall on Ashoka Road here on Thursday, said that they condemn the arrest of Teltumbde by the BJP government. They said that though the police are not arresting anyone during the lockdown, the arrest of a scholar should be condemned.

“Dr Teltumbde has reached this level in the corporate sector by sheer hard work. He is married to the granddaughter of Dr B R Ambedkar. He has written unique books to better Indian society. Dr Teltumbde who leads a department at Goa Institute of Management is arrested for his pro-people mindset. But the people of India are standing by him. The central government should take back the false cases against him and release him immediately,” they said.

Shambhulinga Swamy, Rajashekar Kote, Alagudu Shivakumar, Karya Basavanna, Kallahalli Kumar, Mahadevaswamy and others were present. (MR/KS)
