Mysuru, November 12:- Members of Medical and Sales Representatives’ Association staged an awareness rally in the city on Tuesday to protect people from unreasonable medical practices and sought a ban on online sale of medicines.
Senior physician Dr K Javeed Nayeem inaugurated the rally at Mahatma Gandhi Circle in the city. The rally went through Dodda Gadiyara Circle, Chamarajendra Circle, Bengaluru-Nilagiri Road, Gun House Circle and Nanjangud. After carrying out march on the streets of Nanjangud, they headed to Hassan. They will try and create awareness among the public till November 15 at Mandya, Hassan, Shivamogga and Dakshina Kannada districts.
All India General Council meeting will be held in Mysuru from February 14 to 16, 2020 regarding the ill-effects of the medical policies and online sale of medicines. They urged the government to bring down GST on medicines to 0% and stop the monopoly of retail medical store chains and also stop the harassment to employees by the owners of medical companies.
State organising secretary L Muralidhar Peshwa, Mysuru secretary Karthik Gowda, Lakshmesha, CITU state president Varalakshmi, state secretary Umesh, Jayaram, Amanullah Khan and others were present. (MR/KS)
