Protests seeking more powers to ED and CBI

Mysuru, September 13:- Karnataka Rakshana Samithi staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office on Friday, urging the central government to give more powers to Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to nab corrupt politicians and officers.

“Politics has been contaminated in India. From village panchayat to national level, corruption is seen everywhere in politics. Crores of rupees are gobbled up by the corrupt officials and politicians. If it is not stopped, it will adversely affect the country. Politics is no place for good people now and goons and anti-social elements are misusing the power. In order to protect democracy, the government should give more powers ED, CBI and Lokayukta,” the protesters said.

District president Venugopal, Mahadev, Mallikarjuna Swamy, Mahadevappa, Akram Pasha, Ninge Gowda, Akshay and others were present. (MR/KS)
