Members of Akhila Karnataka PU Lecturers Hitharakshana Sangha urged the state government to implement Kumar Naik panel report immediately.
Staging a protest in front of DC office in the city on Saturday, sangha said, “The state government must immediately implement Kumar Naik Community report which had recommended salary hike for PU lecturers. Special allowances need to be given to the PU lecturers appointed after 2008 also and a chance for promotion to higher post must also be given. If a person joins as a PU lecturer, he or she remains as a lecture till retirement. So lecturers with experience more than 25 years must be given promotion and be made principal in the due course. The lecturers who are appointed in 2013 should be given leave with salary to pursue BEd,” they added.
ACICM coordinator M Lakshman, members of the association and others were present.
