Put an end to quacks’ menace: Doctors

Mysuru, December 3:- “If the increasing quacks are not controlled in the district, the doctors will come on to the streets to protest. The officials have to take action immediately against them,” said the same the president of fake doctors elimination committee, Dr S Prasanna Shankar at a press meet at Mysuru press club.

“More than 1,000 fake doctors are functioning in the district. They have studied only SSLC or PUC, but are treating patients. Many innocent patients have lost their lives due to this. Such fake doctors have to be curbed as soon as possible. According to the Indian drug control act of 1984, those who have studied MBBS, BDS and veterinary are supposed to give Alopathy medicine. But these fake doctors are also are giving medicine,” he explained.

“We have requested the CEO of zilla panchayat, family welfare department and concerned authorities to control fake doctors. If they continue to neglect this, we will resort to protest,” he added.
