“Quality education combined with all social values is panacea for all social evils,” said Registrar, University of Mysore Dr C Basavaraju.
Addressing the students of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College at the weekly assembly held recently Prof Basavaraju said that the processes of liberalisation, privatisation, and globalisation have led to the distortion and erosion of human values. Therefore there was a need to reform the society with value-based education. Education institutions can play a greater and vital role in this task of rebuilding the society.”
He also added that they can incorporate human values into the academic curriculum. He called upon the students to respect indigenous culture to promote a society known for tranquility, peace and harmony.
Professor Basavaraju also advised the students to give equal importance to culture along with pursuit of knowledge.
Later Prof Basavaraju interacted with the class representatives of the college.
