Rahul Gandhi detained in MP

Prime News, National, Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), June 8:- Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has been detained today at the Neemuch border en route to violence-hit Mandsaur where he was to meet families of six people who died in police firing during farmers’ protests on Tuesday.

Earlier in day, Mandsaur District Magistrate Swatantra Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police O P Tripathi have been removed.

Meanwhile, the farmers’ union of the Congress is also staged a protest at the Cantonment Railway Station in Bengaluru on Thursday. In Mysuru, the Karnataka State Cane Growers’ Association members staged a protest condemning the killing of six farmers in Madhya Pradesh.

The agitation has intensified in other parts of the country with around 4,000 villagers taking to the streets in Maharashtra’s Solapur where a farmer hanged himself.
