Rain water inundates Dasara Exhibition Grounds again; shop owners stage protest

Mysuru, October 13:-  The rains have continued to pound the heritage city of Mysuru. Thursday’s downpour for over two hours has resulted in the rain water gushing into the Dasara Exhibition Grounds in the city, opposite the main Mysuru Palace gate, thus putting the shop owners and the visitors especially women and children into a lot of hardship.

The rains have caused huge losses for the shop owners and today they staged a protest by closing down the shops as no government official came to their rescue.

The materials which were kept in the shops have been washed away in the rain water. Sheds of the shops have also been damaged. The shop owners extended support to the tender holders to shut down their shops. They have urged the district administration to find a solution to theirproblems. Several machines and motors have also been damaged following heavy rains.
