Y D Rajanna was elected as the president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KaSaPa), Mysuru District, last week. The swearing in ceremony was held at Vijayanagar on Thursday. After taking the oath as the new President, he said: “I have been serving Kannada from past several years. The members have recognised my service and voted for me. I will fulfil their expectations and try to take the KaSaPa to new heights.”
“For the next three years, Kannada will be my topmost priority. I will take the advice of all my seniors, including Bannur Raju. I wish the government responds to our work in a positive way and I will work hard for the development of language during my tenure,” he added.
Former presidents of KaSaPa, literary personalities like CPK, Raju, Geetha, Asha Krishnegowda, Sarojamma, Chandru and other members of KaSaPa were present during the ceremony.
