Rally taken out in Mysuru to create awareness on dengue

Mysuru, July 25:- A rally to create awareness about the dengue disease was held in the city on Wednesday as part of Anti- Dengue Month observed from July 1 to 31.

The rally was organised under the joint auspices of District Vector Borne Diseases Control Office and District Health Department.

The rally was flagged off at Primary Healthcare Centre on Double Road at Kuvempunagar here and passed through the main thoroughfares.

Nursing students of various nursing institutions raised slogans to create awareness about dengue prevention and measures to be adopted by the people.

Pamphlets were distributed to the public on how to prevent dengue and control spread of dengue disease in the district.

The vector borne disease control office has initiated various control measures that includes integrated vector management, early detection and complete treatment, active surveillance, passive surveillance, malaria clinic, contract survey and fever treatment depot.

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Council member K V Mallesh, District Vector Borne Diseases Control officer Dr Chidambaram, Shishir, Prasad and others were present. -KK
