Ranga Sambhrama Theatre Festival on Jan 24, 25

Mysuru, January 23:- “Karnataka Nataka Academy and Ranga Chavadi Mysuru are organising ‘Ranga Sambhrama 2019’ theatre festival at Kalamandir on January 24 and 25,” said the secretary of Ranga Chavadi, Sangapura Nagaraj at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club here on Tuesday.

“The event which was earlier planned for three days was trimmed to two days due to the demise of Siddaganga seer. Senior theatre person, Nadoja Belagallu Veeranna will inaugurate the event on January 24 at 6 pm. President of Nataka Academy J Lokesh, members Honna Nayaka, Ganesh Amingada, assistant director of Kannada and Culture Department H Chennappa will be present. Belagallu Veeranna and H S Govindegowda will be felicitated,” he added.

“Prior to the inauguration, Sri Rajeshwari Vastralankara Ranga Tanda will perform Kurukshetra play at 12 noon. After the stage programme, Sambhrama Mahila Mandali of Mandya will perform Paduka Pattabhisheka play. Only women will enact the entire play,” he added.

“Valedictory programme will be held on January 25 at 6 pm. Prof H S Umesh will preside over the event. Registrar of the academy Dr A C Shailaja, Cha Sarvamangala, Gangadhara Swamy, Kiragasuru Rajappa, Mike Ramesh will be felicitated. Kalavidara Balaga Bengaluru will perform Dasharatha play,” he added.
