Rape accused fails to appear in court for the 6th time

Mysuru, December 21:- It is shocking but true. Not once but six times. A rape accused, who was supposed to be present in the court here on Wednesday, gave it a miss for the sixth consecutive time. K G Mahesh Gowda, a resident of Vidyaranyapuram, is the accused.

He allegedly raped a minor girl who later gave birth to a child. The accused kept on saying it was not his child. After DNA test, it was proved that he was responsible for the act.

The 6th ADG court had ordered him to be present before the court on November 23 when the court was supposed to give its final judgment. Around that time, Mahesh got admitted to a hospital citing health issues. Then the court postponed the judgment date to November 29, but the accused continued to stay in the hospital. On December 4, the accused was supposed to appear in the court but gave it a slip. Apparently, he managed to escape from the hospital. His whereabouts were not known between December 6 and 16.

Later, the accused surrendered to the court through his advocate Dikkannanavar and Shivaswamy. The judgment is slated for tomorrow. (MR/KS).
