Mysuru, February 26:- “The first Rashtriya Lok Adalat of 2019 will be held on March 9 as instructed by the National Legal Services Authority and Karnataka Legal Services Authority Bengaluru,” said Principal District and Sessions Judge S K Vantigodi.
He was addressing a press meet at the video conference hall of the district law court here on Tuesday.
“Lok Adalat aims at solving criminal, civil, motor vehicle, accident, family, atrocities control Act and other cases which can be solved by discussion. Along with these cases, if any cases are requested to be taken up at the concerned court, district authority or taluk committees, such cases will also be solved. There are 1.06 lakh cases which are still pending. There are 2,600 divorce cases and 7,000 cheque bounce cases that need to be solved. Lok Adalat will be held four times in a year to solve the cases,” he added.
