Mysuru, January 12:- “To mark the 25 years of ‘Abhiyantararu’ in Mysuru, a Rashtriya Ranga Utsava (national theatre festival) is being organised in the city.
The festival comprises a seminar, drawing competition, theatre music, dance, play and other events,” said president of the organisation H S Suresh at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Friday.
“The event will be inaugurated on January 30 at Kalamandir on Vinobha Road here. Senior theatre director MS Sathyu will inaugurate the event at 6 pm. Director of National School of Drama (NSD) C Basavalingaiah, Karnataka Nataka Academy chairman J Lokesh and others will be present,” he added.
“Artiste Pa Sa Kumar will inaugurate Drawing Exhibition on January 31 at 10:30 am. Film director Jayatirtha will inaugurate a state-level workshop on ‘Theatre and Cinema’ on February 4 at 10:30 am. Everyday theatre music and dance programmes will be held for six days. Teams from various states will perform plays,” he added.
Senior theatre personality Rameshwari Verma released the poster of the event and expressed her happiness at theatre festivities to be held in the city for the next three months.
