Mysuru, July 22:- Due to coronavirus pandemic, the lockdown that has been in force has impacted the lives of pourakarmikas and auto rickshaw drivers. To help them overcome difficult times, ration kits were distributed in Ward 43 of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) on Wednesday (July 22).
Speaking on the occasion, Councillor Gopi said life has become miserable for everyone after lockdown came into effect in the month of March. “Business activities have come to a standstill. Auto drivers and pourkarmikas are having a tough time financially. Looking at their plight, we decided to distribute ration kits to 150 drivers and pourakarmikas coming under Ward 43. Each kit has rice, tur dal, oil, sugar and salt and there are 13 items altogether.”
