Mysuru, January 1:- Several First Information Reports (FIR) have been registered at various police stations against noted Kannada writer and rationalist Prof K S Bhagawan who has written lightly about Lord Rama in his book ‘Rama Mandira Yake Beda.’
A complaint has been registered against him at Kuvempunagar Police Station. The police has registered FIR against Prof Bhagawan under IPC section 295 (A) and are investigating. It is said that the writer may face imprisonment up to 3 years if the allegation of hurting religious sentiments are proven.
The police security provided at the house of Prof Bhagawan has continued even today. Many pro-Hindu activists were arrested and later released for attempting to worship Lord Rama in front of Prof Bhagawan’s residence in the city. (KS, NGB)
