Raveendra Srikantaiah, KPCC member and close confidante of former chief minister S M Krishna, has announced his decision to quit the Congress.
Raveendra told reporters here on Sunday that being an avid follower of Krishna, he too has decided to quit the party along with his supporters.”Krishna’s recent decision on quitting Congress after being sidelined by the party has come as a shock to party workers and his followers. It is not possible for us to imagine Congress party without Krishna. Hence, we have taken a decision to quit the party. I will hold a meeting with my supporters soon and tender my resignation from the post of KPCC member and also from the primary membership,” he said.
“The veteran leader had been striving hard for the Congress for the past four decades. The party high command, however, failed to recognise his services. His recent move is not to threaten anybody. Krishna’s exit is sure to have an impact on the Congress,” Raveendra said.
