RCIS organises state-level Chess Tournament

Mysuru, September 17: Royale Concorde International School (RCIS) had organised a state-level Chess Tournament in collaboration with Mysore Chess Centre at its school premises in Bogadi on Sunday.

There were 310 entries in U-8, U-10, U-12 and U-14 boys and girls from all over the state. The tournament was inaugurated by chief guest Tulasi, national chess champion.

The inaugural function began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by a welcome speech. Tulasi motivated the chess players with her inspiring speech.

Prabhavathy, the Principal, Royale Concorde International School, addressed the gathering and expressed joy over hosting the tournament at their school.  She wished all the young champions to be winners always.

It was a delightful occasion to see promising chess players participating in the event. There were also enthusiastic parents who had accompanied their children.

L R Shivarame Gowda,  Chairman, Royal Group of Institutions, and the management trustees expressed their happiness over hosting a big event and bringing in the state players under one roof. (MR).
