Ready for the third wave of the pandemic: MCC health officer Dr Nagaraj

Mysuru, August 3:- Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is taking all the steps in earnest to fight the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, said MCC health officer Dr D G Nagaraj here on Tuesday (August 3).

Talking to the media, he said, “Nine teams have been formed in all the nine zones. On an average, we are conducting over 3,000 coronavirus tests and we have plans to increase it. We have already started screening people at tourist spots. Important places and business centres have been asked to stick to Covid guidelines. Violators will be penalised. Travellers from neighbouring Kerala are being screened at the border. All the Covid centres of MCC are also conducting tests and if there is a need, we want to increase the number of centres. Fortunately, the positivity rate in Mysuru is less and there is no need to worry. Nevertheless, people need to follow the guidelines without fail.” (MR/KS)
