Recoveries far outnumber new Covid-19 cases in Mysuru; tally swells to 53,486

Mysuru, February 4:-Mysuru district on Wednesday (February 3) saw more discharges than the new Covid-19 cases as 27 new discharges were registered and 10 new infections reported, taking the tally of discharges to 52,263 and cumulative positive cases to 53,486.

Of the 53,486 positive cases, 197 are active across the district and stable. Five patients are getting treatment in Intensive Care Units (ICU) of the hospitals.

The district for the last three consecutive days reported no fatalities and the death toll linked to the Covid-19 stands at 1026. A total of 8,13,842 Covid samples have been tested so far in the district. 3179 samples were tested on Wednesday alone, according to Mysuru Covid War Room data.

An 88-year-old man from Bengaluru Urban and another 65-year-old man from Hassan succumbed to the coronavirus disease on Wednesday and the deaths are attributed to Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) and Influenza Like Illness (ILI) with the symptoms of fever, cough and breathlessness who had co-morbidities. (NAV)
