Mysuru, December 30:- The recoveries in Mysuru district outnumbered the new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (December 29) as 23 new infections and 40 discharges were registered, taking the tally of positive Covid-19 caseload to 52,312 and the total discharged patients to 50,812, according to a health bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Of the 52,312 total cases, 488 are active across the district and stable. After a brief gap the district recorded two deaths on Tuesday and death toll linked to the coronavirus has risen to 1012. The second district to report more than 1,000 cases after Bengaluru Urban district in the state followed by Dakshina Kannada – 734 deaths, Dharwad – 607, Ballari – 597, Hassan – 393, Tumakuru – 377, Shivamogga – 348 and Belagavi – 342.
Of the four deaths on Tuesday in the state, Bengaluru Urban and Mysuru shared two each, all other districts have reported no fatality. The district has performed tests of 6,14,659 samples till Tuesday evening as per data from Mysuru Covid war room that includes Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and RT-PCR tests. (NAV)
