Recoveries slump to a new low in Mysuru district; 82 new Covid-19 cases reported

Prime News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Mysuru, August 10:- The recoveries slumped to a new low compared to the new Covid-19 cases in Mysuru district, as only 11 patients were discharged on Monday (August 9)  and with 82 new coronavirus cases being registered, the cumulative positive caseload reached 1,74,010 and the tally of discharged patients reached 1,70,366, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department as of August 9 till 6 pm.

A single death was recorded from Mysuru city on Monday (August 9) and the toll has risen to 2326. No fresh deaths were recorded from other taluks.

A total of 1,89,5627 coronavirus samples were tested till August 9, 10,705 samples were tested on Monday alone.

Out of the 2326 deaths recorded so far, Mysuru city recorded 1663 deaths followed by Nanjungud – 128, Mysuru taluk – 123, T Narasipura – 105, Hunsur – 93, K R Nagar – 87, H D Kote – 65 and Periyapattana – 62.

Of the 82 new infections registered on Monday, Mysuru city reported 54 positive cases followed by Periyapattana, Hunsur and Mysuru taluk – 7 each, K R Nagar – 3, T Narasipura – 2,H D Kote and Nanjangud  – one each.

Till August 9, Mysuru city registered 1,07,592 positive cases followed by Mysuru taluk – 13,865, 10,856 in Nanjangud, 10,350 in K R Nagar, 9873 in Hunsur, 8436 in T Narasipura, 7628 in Periyapattana and 5410 in H D Kote.

With 745 active cases in Mysuru city, the tally in the district stands at 1318 and the case count has further come down to below 2,000 as of August 9.

Periyapattana has 200 active cases, Hunsur – 89,  Mysuru taluk – 83  K R Nagar – 68, H D Kote – 36, Nanjangud – 36, and T Narasipura – 13.

Till August 9, as many as 18 patients succumbed to mucormycosis (Black fungus) disease; 13 from K R Hospital, 4 from Apollo Hospital and one from Narayana Multispecialty Hospital and the district’s active cases further decreased to 20; K R Hospital – 6, JSS Hospital – 7 each, Columbia Asia Hospital Mysuru and Apollo Hospital – 3 each and Fort Cauvery Hospital – one.
