If the support fund of Sc/ St Students is not released in time, Vidhana Soudha siege will be carried out, warned Nayaka Yuva Sene state president Devraj T Katoor.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, he said that the government has not released the full amount of the fund that was supposed to be given to the students who have passed in first class in PUC, degree, post graduation and engineering. Though the government had released the amount, full payment is yet to done, he complained.
“Request letter has been sent to the social welfare minister. Already Rs 19 crores is reserved in the budget for the development of this section. Though there is a direct order to release the full amount, due to the irresponsibility of a few officers, it is still pending,” he said.
He also warned the government to release the full amount within 15 days, if not, the association will lay siege to the Vidhana Soudha in the coming days.
