Religious convention to remember soldier Mahesh

Mysuru, February 25:- A religious convention will be held at Pashupati village of K R Nagar on February 26 in memory of martyr soldier Mahesh.

“Mahesh who had served as a soldier in the Indian army died at Siachen on February 3, 2016. His final rites were performed at Pashupati village. Inauguration of a memorial building will be held on the occasion. A convention of 108 seers will be held on the occasion,” said seer Shadakshara of Gurumalleshwara Pattada mutt at a press meet on Saturday.

“Seers Mahantha of Gurumalleshwara Dasoha mutt and Channabasava Deshikendra of Chikkaveera Deshikendra mutt will be present. Seer Siddamalla of Sheela mutt will inaugurate the event. Seer Channabasava of Mallanamule Kambaleshwara mutt will preside over the event. Seer Nataraja of Gurulinga Jangama mutt will inaugurate the memorial building,” he added.

“MLA Sa Ra Mahesh, MP Pratap Simha, former MP H Vishwanath, M Shivanna, former MLC Siddaraju will be present. Dr Shivarajappa of Gandhi Study Centre of UoM will speak about Mahesh,” he added.

Dadadahalli Guruswamy of Nanjanagud was present. (MR/KMR).
