Renovated Children’s Traffic Park inaugurated in Mysuru

Mysuru, July 16:- The renovated Children’s Traffic Park on Mirza Road in the city was formally inaugurated on Monday by Mysuru Commissioner of Police Dr A Subramanyeshwara Rao.

The Children’s Traffic Park is an innovative traffic awareness park, situated next to the office of CoP on Mirza road in the city.

The Children’s Traffic Park was opened in 1981 by the then managing director of Ideal Jawa motorcycle factory F K Irani in an area of 4 acres and was last upgraded in 2007.

The city police who took the initiative to develop the park houses various traffic related models, pictures and signals. The park houses newly renovated traffic signal system, Pelican, solar blinker, CCTV facilities, VMC system and traffic signals at the premises.

A new initiative, ‘Awareness through little hearts’ was also launched by the Commissioner of Police. The new initiative supervised by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime and traffic) Dr Vikram Amathe will allow students of various educational institutions to visit the park and know more about traffic rules. The new initiative will also make students as the brand ambassadors to spread and create awareness on traffic among the society.

‘Shoulder lights’ distributed

Shoulder lights, newly designed equipment was distributed to the police personnel who work on night duty.

DCP (law and order) N Vishnuvardhan, city traffic police inspectors, students of various schools, Mysuru City Traffic Advisory Committee members and traffic wardens were present on the occasion. -KK
