Mysuru, May 22:- City’s famous photographer Nethra Raju died of a massive heart attack here on Friday evening (May 21). He was 62.
He was admitted to Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology on Thursday night (May 20) and breathed his last yesterday. He had worked in Andolana, a Kannada daily, and The Times of India during his distinguished career, spanning 32 years.
Expressing condolences, the District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar said, “Sad to hear the demise of Raju. He had earned a good name over the years. I pray to God to give strength to his family to bear the loss.”
In his response, Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said, “His photographs had drawn the attention of the world for their uniqueness. In 2014, he won Karnataka Media Academy Award. It is very sad news that he is no more.”
Rangayana director Adyanda C Cariappa said, “He was very much part of Rangayana and he was the cynosure of all eyes. He was destined to achieve more laurels in his career but fate had other thoughts. He captured some wonderful moments during some of the plays staged at Rangayana in the city. (MR/KS)
