Representatives of Malekudiya-Gowdalu community to witness R-D parade

Mysuru, January 21:- State government is sending two Scheduled Tribe representatives to witness Republic Day parade in New Delhi on January 26. These representatives have been sent to New Delhi by Karnataka State Tribal Research Centre.

“Vasanthi, 47, a resident of Pararnodi of Mangaluru taluk, belonging to Malekudiya community and Krishnappa, 38, of Gowdalu community Kalasa in Mudigere taluk will be sent to New Delhi for Republic Day parade. It is a memorable moment as 105 tribal people from all the states will witness the event which, otherwise, bars entry of common people. They will have a discussion with the President of India and a photo-shoot with the Vice President. They will also have a discussion with the Prime Minister,” said the director of the centre Dr T T Basavanagowda.

Krishnappa and Vasanthi thanked the government for the opportunity to witness the Republic Day parade.
