Mysuru, January 27:- The 71st Republic Day of our nation was celebrated at the office of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the city on Sunday.
“In the era of pre-independence, India was having 526 provinces which were united by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is our responsibility to remember him and his contributions. Those who were not holding the tricolour are now holding them and shouting Bharat Mata Ki Jai which is a welcome move,” said MLA SA Ramadass.
“Pakostan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) is an integral part of India. Everyone should cooperate to get it back,” he said.
BJP city president Dr Manjunath BH, My Pu Rajesh, Rajendra, Suresh Babu, Jogi Manju, Lakshmi Devi and others were present.
Republic Day was also observed at the Congress city office. Former minister Dr HC Mahadevappa hoisted the national flag. Congress city president R Murthy, district president BJ Vijay Kumar and others were present. (MR/KS)
