Mysuru, January 25:- Commissioner of Police K T Balakrishna has instructed the people to strictly follow the instructions given by the police department during the Republic Day event to be celebrated tomorrow (Jan 26) at Bannimantap Parade Grounds in the city.
“VVIPs, VIPs, MLAs, MLCs, Zilla Panchayat president, vice president and corporators of Mysuru City Corporation may enter the parade grounds from the main entrance. Other vehicles should be parked at the left side of the main entrance. Entry and parking for the vehicles of police department, media and other departments will be at Gate 5. Those who are taking part in cultural activities and parade, vehicles of schools and colleges will have to use Gate 8. Public will be allowed at Gate 11. As a precautionary measure, weapons including lethal weapons, glass water bottle and big carry bags are not allowed inside the ground,” the police commissioner said.
“Metal detector machines have been installed at all the entrance gates. Everyone will have to undergo metal detector test before entering the ground. Public are not allowed to enter the parade and cultural event venues. They have to be seated at the the earmarked places for visitors,” he added.
“Entry of people to the parade ground from any other gates is prohibited other than the allotted gates. Vehicles should be parked at the demarcated places. If vehicles are parked in a haphazard way affecting vehicular movement, strict action will be taken. CCTV cameras have to be installed at public places including malls, railway station, airport, bus terminals and other places,” he said.
The police commissioner has also instructed hotel owners to collect proper information regarding the tourists who stay at the hotels before handing them over the room keys. Balakrishna has requested the people to inform Police Control Room if they come across any suspicious person or objects found across the city. (KS, NGB)
