Mysuru, September 13:- Thanks to the copious rain in the Cauvery river basin, reservoirs including KRS, Kabini and Harangi reservoirs have almost filled up.
With the water level in the reservoirs increasing, agriculture activities have begun. It has come as a big relief for the farmers who faced drought situation for three consecutive years. Water level at KRS is 104 feet against the maximum level of 124 feet. The inflow of water is 10,025 cusecs and the outflow is 5,892 cusecs. Currently, the reservoir has a storage of 21.84 TMC compared to that of 11.42 TMC last year.
Harangi reservoir needs only 2 feet to be full. The reservoir has an inflow of 1,430 cusecs and outflow of 1,500 cusecs. Kabini reservoir needs 5 more feet of water to fill up. As it is raining in Wayanad district, water inflow has increased at Kabini. (MR/KS).
