Residential schools to be set up at all hoblis: Siddu

Mysuru, June 5:- “Education can ensure overall development of a person. Children of all social class should get quality education. Keeping this in mind, we are planning to build residential schools at all hoblis,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed building of JSS institution at Hullahalli on Sunday.

“Around 520 hoblis have residential schools. Remaining hoblis will also be provided with schools. Every child is a universal citizen by birth. But the education should not make them narrow minded. Rank students are forced to study medical and engineering. The students for the basic science is on the wane. If the education doesn’t provide output based on the demand, unemployment will creep in. Keeping this in mind, we have set up skill development department. Students studying BE, ITI, degree, diploma will be provided with laptops. Around 1.5 lakh students will be benefited by this scheme,” he added.

He hailed the JSS group for setting new standards in education.

Shivaratri Deshikendra seer, District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, Education Minister Tanveer Sait, MP Dhruvanarayan, MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy, MLC R Dharmasena and others were present. (MR/BM).
