Quit India Movement anniversary observed at Congress Bhavan in Mysuru

Mysuru, August 9:- Former speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Krishna opined that youths of the nation have to do ‘Quit India movement’ against the corrupt.

He was speaking at the 76th memorial programme of Quit India Movement at the Congress Bhavan on JLB Road here on Thursday.

Congress rural president Dr B J Vijay Kumar, Prakash, Uday Kumar and others were present. 

On August 9, 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave the clarion call of ‘Do or Die’ to all Indians to drive away Britishers from the country. The movement had begun from Gawalia Tank in Mumbai. The day is observed as August Kranti Day every year. (MR/HN).
