Dr Vishal, Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration on Saturday held a progress review meeting with more than 100 municipal officers from Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and Hassan districts at Zilla Panchayat auditorium, Mysuru.
The meeting was held to review the progress of various housing schemes that are introduced for pourakarmikas by the central and state governments. Deputy Commissioner D Randeep, Mayor B L Bhyrappa and Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation, J Jagadish graced the occasion.
The meeting focused mainly on issues like sanitation, drinking water, cleanliness and roads. In the interaction with Dr Vishal, the officials seemed to be confused about the implementation of the schemes.
When questioned about the houses for pourakarmikas, officials said that the land has been identified for the construction of the houses, the director said that if the land has been identified for the beneficiaries, then there is no such guidelines that the local bodies have to construct the houses. The authorities could allot the land to beneficiaries so that the houses could be built as per their requirement.
The director took the officials to task for delay in various development works. He also directed the officials to complete the works within a given time-frame.
