Mysuru, May 26:- The meeting to understand the problems of the physically challenged has to be held timely, instructed Deputy Commissioner D Randeep to the officials of physically challenged welfare department.
He also expressed regret for the earlier scheduled meetings being postponed due to various reasons. He was speaking after presiding over the meeting held to discuss the grievance of the physically challenged at Abdul Nazeer auditorium on Friday.
He instructed the officials to make sure that the physically challenged applicants get hold of the 3% of the houses being allotted to them under Rajiv Gandhi awas scheme. The landless will be provided land to build houses by the government.
He assured of discussing about providing smart cards to the handicapped persons as there are more cases of fake applicants getting the benefits coming up.
