Mysuru, July 6:- A host of elected representatives and dignitaries paid tributes to freedom fighter and able administrator Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 32nd death anniversary in the city on Friday.
Mysuru District Administration paid homage to Babu Jagjivan Ram by offering floral tributes to his statue near Mysuru Railway Station.
Speaking on the occasion, Chamarajanagar Member of Parliament R Dhruvanarayan said, “Jagjivan Ram worked for the welfare of the underprivileged and marginalised sections of the society. His life, idealism and principles are an inspiration to the present generation and the younger generation must adopt his principles. He is also known for the green revolution and introduced various schemes for the benefit of agriculturists and farmers in the country.”
In a tweet on his official twitter handle. Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda called Babu Jagjivan Ram as a visionary leader and paid tributes to him.
Mayor B Bhagyavathi, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Shivashankar, Superintendent of Police Amith Singh and others were present. -(KS, KK)
